چکیده

This paper summarizes the development of a homogenized free energy model which characterizes the temperature-dependent hysteresis and constitutive nonlinearities inherent to relaxor ferroelectric materials. A kernel for the model is developed through mesoscopic energy analysis and extended to provide macroscopic constitutive relations through stochastic homogenization techniques based on the assumption that certain underlying parameters are manifestations of underlying densities rather than constants. Mechanisms characterizing the decrease in hysteresis and saturation polarization polarization as temperatures are increased are constructed using asymptotic properties of the kernel which is derived from statistical mechanics tenets. Attributes of the model are illustrated through comparison with PMN-PT-BT data.

Electric field-induced phase transitions in (111)-, (110)-, and (100)-oriented Pb(Mg1â‹Ł3Nb2â‹Ł3)O3 single crystals

Electric field-induced phase transitions were investigated in (111), (110), and (100) thin platelets of relaxor ferroelectric Pb(Mg1∕3Nb2∕3)O3 single crystals with electric fields applied along the ⟨111⟩, ⟨110⟩, and ⟨100⟩ directions, respectively. Temperature dependences of complex dielectric permittivity, pyroelectric current and dielectric hysteresis loops were investigated. Electric field-te...

High pressure synthesis, structure, and multiferroic properties of two perovskite compounds Y2FeMnO6 and Y2CrMnO6.

High purity crystals of Y2FeMnO6 (YFMO) and Y2CrMnO6 (YCMO) have been synthesized for the first time using a flux method under a high temperature of 1573 K and high pressure of 6 GPa. Both YFMO and YCMO have orthorhombic structures in space group Pnma. The temperature-dependent magnetization and the nonlinear M-H hysteresis loops of both materials indicate that an antiferromagnetic transition o...

Bi:SrTiO3: A quantum ferroelectric and a relaxor

Quantum ferroelectric and ferroelectric relaxor behavior has been found in (Sr121.5xBix)TiO3. For x <0.0267, the quantum ferroelectric relationship T«m}(x2xc) 1/2 holds with xc'0.0005, and obvious hysteresis loops were observed. The polarization relaxation shows critical slowing down. At high Bi concentration, a crossover from quantum ferroelectric to relaxor behavior occurred. The coexistence ...

Temperature-Dependent Phase Transition in Orthorhombic [011]c Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3) O3-0.35PbTiO3 Single Crystal

Relaxor [011]c PMN-0.35PT single crystal phase transition characteristics are investigated through various methods including variable temperature dielectric properties, X-ray diffraction, bipolar ferroelectric hysteresis loops (P-E) and electric-field-induced strain (S-E) hysteresis loops measurements. The results reveal that two phase transitions exist within the range from room temperature to...

Energy-storage properties and high-temperature dielectric relaxation behaviors of relaxor ferroelectric Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3–PbTiO3 ceramics

1 − x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3−xPbTiO3 (x = 0, 5, and 10 mol%) ceramics were prepared using a conventional mixed oxide solid state reaction method. The low-temperature relaxor behavior of (1 − x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3–xPbTiO3 ceramics were examined in the temperature range from 120 to 523 K. A broad dielectric maximum that shifted to higher temperatures with increasing frequency, signified the relaxor-type b...
